Happy May Everyone!

Today I am posting a layout that I was able to complete for the Swirlydoos Chipboard Palooza! This is a layout that I have created of my husband. This is one of the pictures I found before we were married. It was not his favorite but it remind me of our Ford Motor Company days. For this layout, I used the Swirlydoos Spotlight Kit which contain the Bo Bunny Timepiece Collection and a Dusty Attic skeleton face chipboard.

For the dusty attic chipboard, I painted it with white acrylic paint first. Then I added vintage photo and fire brick red distress stain. I also used stiletto glimmer glam, flirty glimmer glaze, rock candy crackle paint. I personally colored the numbers 11, 12, and 4 due to our actual wedding date 11/12/2004. I tried to make this layout as masculine as possible. The following picture is a close up of the clock

Swirlydoos April Kit Layouts

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Whew...I am so happy today is Thursday. This was a very hard week for me and I am ready for time with my  two babies. And also some scrappy time with me. Plus, I just received Swirlydoos Spotlight Kit in the mail today and it contained the Bo Bunny's Timepiece papers Ive been drooling over.

Today, I am post a few of the layouts I created for the challenges at Swirlydoos for April. This month I was choosen to go first for the Round Robin competition. It has been a pleasure seeing how my team scraplift this particular layout. This layout is a picture of my daughter at 3 months old. I love the Bo Bunny Gabrielle collection that was in the April Swirlydoos Main Kit. Everything was included except for the MME music paper and the metal trinkets from making memories.

My second layout was for the butterfly challenge. This is a picture of my daughter last summer. Everything was obtain in Swirlydoos Kits (April and March) and the DA from the Swirly store. The cream flower was made by me.

My third layout was for the "Odd Paper" Challenge. For my odd papers, I used my daughters sunflower she made in preschool and the butterflies were punched with velvet paper.

For my fourth layout,  I went back to my March Kit and created this layout for my Scraps of Darkness DT application. This is a picture of my daughter at 3 weeks old

Changes are coming....

Lately, it seems like I have forgotten about this poor old blog of mines. I have decided to make a change and use this blog in a much more productive way. I will be changing the outlook of my blog and posting regularly. During this time away from my blog, I was still creating layouts with my new kits from Swirlydoos. Here are a few of the layouts, I have completed during my time away for the challenges at the Swirlydoos Forum.

Layout #1 - "Precious" created for the Round Robin Challenge - week 4. This layout used the March Kit from Swirlydoos

Layout #2 - " My fairy" created for the Butterfly Challenge for the March Kit

Layout #3- "Laugh" created for the funny face challenge. This layout was a project for my daughter and I experimenting with different mediums and techniques. (March Kit)

 Layout #4 - "21 months" created for the March Sketch Challenge.

Swirlydoos Round Robin....

Happy Friday!!!!

Its a very happy day for me too. I received good news today and I finish a new layout. My first layout with the February Swirlydoos Kit and my first time participating with the Round Robin. Almost a whole month, since the last time I was able to scrapbook.

This month kit contains papers from TPC Grandma's Attic line and its more of vintage type. My round robin team did a layout based on older photos. So I requested a few pictures from my side of the family and my husband side of the family. Only one of the pictures was received in time. This layout is of my husband's grandma. She has a beautiful singing voice and she stills sings a few gospel songs when I visit or call. The picture is of her when she was younger and part of a singing group called "Bethany 4". She is the lady standing on the far right of the picture. This is a very pretty picture of her and one of her favorites of the past.

In this layout, I created 2 of the flowers (lace and tan brown) and I used a combination of the Swirlydoos Kit and my own personal stash.

Good Morning!

It has been a long time since I have participated in Unity Stamp Company's Friends with Flair Day. I am excited to be back, well at least for this week. I have been scrapping quite frequently lately and for today's  layout I used an older stamp set which are my favorites. This is a layout of my daughter at 3 months old. I tried to get a very pretty picture of her one Sunday morning before church but my baby girl would not let me. One of my goals for this year is to finish her first year album and I wanted to show every aspect of her.

For this layout, I used the stamps in the following Unity Stamp Set called "Growing in Unity". This stamp set can be purchased here.

Also, I used the January 2011 Kit from Swirlydoos to complete this layout. Please take the time to visit the all the participants blogs today. Have a good day!

Fly....

Well, I have another layout to post from the Jan 2011 Kit from Swirlydoos. I was truly hestitate at first due to the bold bright colors but after creating 2 layouts I love this kit even more. This layout was for the SGC Action Challenge on their forum. I was required to use an action photo, chipboard and paint. On this layout, I chose a photo of my daughter swinging on a swing at the playground. I painted the chipboard letters white and I painted the wings before the glitter was added.

For some reason, I am very addicted to glimmermist. I always end up using it somehow on a layout. This time I masked another set of wings that came with the kit. And I used my new found love, the radiant rain dauber in gold.

I have 2 sick babies tonight so hopefully I may get some scrapping time as they fall asleep. I have two more layout to create for the last two challenges.

Its been a long time....

Happy New Year!!

Its been a long long time since my last post. My holiday schedule was very hectic this year and I took a much needed break. Also, I am transitioning back to work so I gave my babies the attention that they needed. Even though I was not blogging, I still found time to do a layout or two.  

For the new year, I joined a kit club called Swirlydoos for 6 months. I have been stalking their forum and blog for a while. I just new this was the right club for me. I am trying to get my daughter and my son first year album together. I know spending money will give me the extra push I needed to get it done. So, my first kit that I just ordered came in this weekend. I was able to finish one layout and participate in one of the challenges.

This layout is for the "The odds are..."Challenge. You are required to add items to your layout and in the quantities of 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and the twist was adding 11 items.

For my layout, I added the following items:

1 key

3 layers and ribbon

5 flowers

7 leaves

9 heart rhinestones

11 grommets

I added timeless lilac and patina glimmermist to make the white chipboard letters stand out. Then I added a homemade vine and rosebuds. My scrapbook store does not sale many prima flowers so I had to create my own. I also played a little with my new love besides glimmermist is the Radiant rain daubers. Those daubers give a lot of shimmer. I added it to the leaves and the yellow petaloo flowers. 

The two layouts I did while on Christmas break, I will added to the blog later or maybe in a photo slideshow on the blog. 

By the way, I hope everyone is remembering Martin Luther King, Jr today besides just laying around.
